At this year's HRD exhibition at London's Olympia (12th - 14th April 2005), Pearlcatchers Ltd will be launching 'Ask Pearlcatchers' - a new free service for existing and potential clients - and they will give visitors to their stand (no 1192) the opportunity to try it out before anyone else.
'Ask Pearlcatchers' works on the premise that the wealth of information available from training providers (particularly at such a successful exhibition as HRD) can sometimes be a little daunting. If you have a specific development problem or training need, sometimes all you want is a bit of advice on what options are available to you, rather than a sales pitch. Well that's where Pearlcatchers can help.
As a one-stop shop for all your event and training needs, Pearlcatchers have a good understanding of what is available in the learning arena. As such we are offering a FREE 15-minute consultancy session for visitors to our stand. You simply give us some background on your particular scenario and we will give you some suggestions on different options you may want to consider – all at no cost or obligation. If we are unable to provide this service on the day (either due to unavailability of our consultants or the requirement for some specialist knowledge), we commit to providing a written response within 10 working days of the exhibition
Another free service this year to help with your development issues is Coachable Moments - an interesting variation on the concept of role play. Rather than working on fictional scenarios, Coachable Moments allows participants to take a real life scenario / issue they are experiencing and to work with our actor trainers to improve the way they handle the situation.
The technique works by the actor asking a lot of questions about the situation, the other person involved, their personality, the relationship, the history etc. The actor will then take on the role of the other person and 'act out' the scenario. At the end of this, the actor will then discuss how things went and give emotional feedback on how they felt as the other person. After some suggestions from the actor trainer, the situation will be replayed - giving the participant the rare benefit of trying again with hindsight. Normally, this format can be continued several times until the participant is comfortable with their performance.
