There is no better feeling than having a good old laugh now and again. Unfortunately, work is seen by many as a ‘serious activity’ where fun has no place. Comic Capers will help you to put the fun back into your life, while getting your team to play together, communicate in more dynamic ways and learn how laughter can free up creativity and idea generation. There are several different activities that can be included in one of these workshop, such as:
Improvisation games - Warm ups, relaxation exercises, gibberish, dance, movement, characters and games. Actors use these exercises to free up their emotions before a performance in order to make themselves light, centred and expressive. Delegates will learn physical theatre techniques as well as hysterical exercises and games to get the brain and body working in an absolutely spontaneous and joyous manner. From this place of freedom- true creativity will flow
Sketch Comedy - We start with exercises and confidence building comedy games. Participants will be taught some of the ground rules of comedy before being split into groups and assigned specific characters and situations. Participants will then be given a period of supervised rehearsal after which each group will have to perform a short sketch to their peers.
Stand Up Comedy - A crash course in some of the following techniques: delivery - body language - the seven basic jokes - timing - connecting with an audience - opening lines- making your humour work and rant and rave.
