Lights, Camera, Action!

Your chance to shine on the big screen ...

If you ever thought you could do better than some of the Hollywood heroes, here is your chance. Armed with a video camera, themed costumes/props, an idea for a script and of course a clapper board, teams are let loose to record their own 3-minute masterpiece.

Costumes and props range from western to pantomime, 70's disco to outer space. The subject/theme of the movie itself can be anything you choose, with the only limitation being your imagination. Some popular choices include:

· Advertising a new product (real or fictional) - to prove that you really can sell fridges to Eskimos!

· Designing a fun mini induction for new employees to your organisation to explain 'how things really work around here'.

· Hollywood Trailers ... advertise the next masterpiece to be turned into a Hollywood blockbuster, such as

'101 Things to Do with Raffia' or 'The Goldfish - a History' or try to improve on trailers for some of the old favourites like 'Gone With the Wind' or 'Titanic'.

Alternatively, we can write a reduced version of a famous Hollywood film appropriate to your guests, including company in-jokes, gossip and catchphrases. Each team is then tasked to produce different scenes that make up the final masterpiece. This activity is a great way to demonstrate the array of creativity or like-minded attitudes within your organisation.

The teams will have to design, cast and act out their video - ready for everyone to watch and vote on. There is so much to do that everyone will find something to suit their skills, from creating sound effects, to directing the action or coordinating the fight scene. Further spice can be added by setting team challenges at any point during the game, which will earn each film crew the chance to "purchase" a choice of additional props, special effects or support staff.

Lights, Camera, Action is suitable for groups from 10-300 and prices include scripts/scenarios, props and costumes, audio visual equipment, technical support and copies of the finished videos. Optional extras include professional directors, a fight coordinator and well-known look-a-likes.

To compliment this event, why not finish the day off with a Hollywood themed? First, you will attend a screening of the productions themselves, followed by your very own spoof awards ceremony - the DAFTA's. Awards can be as serious (most promising actor) or as silly (best out-take) as you want and will be accompanied by a certificate and the award itself.
