A deadly virus is sweeping across Earth and the only known cure requires a rare mineral found only in the most inaccessible region of the Moon. Your team has been sent to the Moon on a mining expedition to locate and retrieve this precious cargo. Everything has been going to plan - until now. Just as the exploration party were approaching the mining site, their moon buggy has broken down - 200 miles from the mother ship.
You have a limited supply of oxygen and no transport, but you must complete your mission - the future of your planet depends upon it. With help from the mother ship and mission control, you must decide how you are going to complete your task and get back to base before your supplies run out. The team must first decide who will be assigned to each location (mission control, mother ship or mining expedition), based on the skill-sets required for the different activities. They then need to plan their route back to the mother ship - and choose their supplies accordingly. Mountains, poisonous swamps, minefields and freaky forests stand in your way - not to mention the odd little green man or two.
The event is formatted like a board game, with various activities to undertake, depending upon which route the teams choose. Activities the team will be involved in may include moon-walking across a poisonous swamp, crossing a minefield (on skis!), trying to break alien codes, hunting for the precious mineral, building bridges to cross the corrosive river bed, making/repairing a new moon buggy, finding their way through a maze and of course keeping the mother ship and mission control updated at all times.
As each activity is successfully completed the team(s) will be awarded points that they can take either as moon miles, additional supplies (such as oxygen, water etc) or spare parts to repair the moon buggy.
The Final Frontier provides ample opportunity for both mental and physical agility to be tested and activities can be tailored to indoor or outdoor venues as required.
Teamworking and communication are key factors in this game, as your success depends on correctly identifying and utilizing the strengths of all team members. The game encourages competition against other teams and tests the teams' problem solving, tenacity, initiative, forecasting and planning - not to mention their endurance and stamina.
If you ever dreamed of becoming an astronaut and saving the world, well now is your chance as the Final Frontier challenges you to boldly go where no team has gone before.
