Arts and Drama Based Learning

Want to put some drama into your training?

Once confined to the realms of creativity and teambuilding, the concept of an arts-based approach to learning has been growing both in terms of popularity and the range of topics covered. Drama-based learning initially focussed on using theatrical techniques to support the development of soft skills, such as communication and public speaking. However, with our background in both the theatre and business worlds, Pearlcatchers Ltd are able to combine business experience with innovation to create training solutions in areas such as:

Change Management

People Management

Internal Consulting

Project Management

Corporate Culture

Team Development

Internal Audits

Customer Service

Leadership Development

Corporate Communication

Commercial Awareness

Building Vision and Values

Forecasting and Planning

Influencing and Negotiation

Pearlcatchers recognise that every business is different and specialise in creating tailored programmes for our customers. We utilise a wide range of techniques and methodologies, the most popular of which include:

Forum Theatre and Drama

Drama Workshops

Music and Dance

Film and Video

Art and Fashion

Visualisation

Business Simulations

Interactive Games and Events

Construction and Design

Icebreakers and Energisers

Live Demonstrations

Improvisation and Performance

Pearlcatchers Ltd. have designed a range of services that use these and many other techniques. Based around some of the key issues in business today, most of the activities can be tailored to suit your needs or be incorporated into part of a larger training programme.

Forum Theatre

A team of actors perform a humorous sketch to demonstrate specific issues. They ask the audience for advice and guidance, which is then improvised into the drama - allowing participants the rare benefit of hindsight.

Forum Drama

Forum Drama works on similar principles to Forum Theatre, but is generally used with smaller groups allowing greater focus on individual issues and providing a safe environment to try out new ideas and tackle sensitive issues.

  • Fit for Business - gaining employee buy-in to change.
  • Are You Being Served - challenging perceptions of customer care.
  • The Seat of Power - managing conflict in the workplace.
  • Game, Set and Match - giving constructive feedback.

Business Simulations immerse participants into a company or situation that can either mirror some of the issues experienced in their own organisation or assist them in developing key skills. This works particularly well with organisational skills, such as auditing, budgeting, change and project management

Interactive Games and Events where participants take part in a series of activities are a popular teambuilding tool. However, with expert observation and debriefing, they can be developed to incorporate far greater learning, such as planning, problem solving and communication skills

Drama workshops - we run a series of fun and interactive training days that utilise drama to demonstrate techniques, relate theory to real life and embed learning through practical experience.

  • Closing the Deal - learning smart sales and negotiation skills.
  • The Cheese Experience - learning to embrace change and ambiguity.
  • I Have A Dream - using visualisation to plan your organisation's future.
  • Little Voices - maximise your potential as a public speaker.
